Privacy Policy
Effective Date: January 1, 2026
At Velocast, we prioritize your privacy and digital security above all else. This policy explains our data practices, specifically how our browser-based peer-to-peer screen sharing technology operates without compromising your sensitive information.
1. Peer-to-Peer Encryption
Velocast is built on the standard WebRTC protocol. When you cast your screen, your display media, audio, and interactions are sent directly to the viewer device using an encrypted Peer-to-Peer (P2P) connection secured by SRTP (Secure Real-time Transport Protocol).
2. Zero Video Server Storage
3. What Data Do We Collect?
- Signaling Data: We use Firebase Realtime Database strictly as a "signaling server" to exchange temporary network handshakes (SDP offers/answers) so that your browsers can find each other. This data expires and is deleted.
- Local Storage: Your 6-digit room history is stored entirely in your browser's local storage to provide the "Recent Connects" feature (if active). We do not have access to this data.
4. Device Permissions
Velocast will request access to navigator.mediaDevices.getDisplayMedia and, optionally, your camera for QR scanning. These streams remain strictly inside your browser environment.
